That moisture number is what decides whether the Pro or Flagship's moisture vapor barrier primer is a nice-to-have or a must-have on your particular slab. We'd rather tell you honestly that your concrete tested dry and you can save the money on The Base than upsell a barrier you don't need. The flip side is also true: if your slab is holding more moisture than it should, we're not going to quietly install a coating we know is going to bubble in eighteen months just to win the job cheaper than the next bid.

After the moisture check comes the grind itself, and we profile it to a target roughly in the middle of the Concrete Surface Profile scale contractors use industry-wide, somewhere in the CSP 3 to 5 range depending on which coating system you choose. Too shallow a profile and the coating can't grip. Too aggressive and you waste material filling in grind marks that didn't need to be there. Reading that correctly on your specific Grayson County slab is what a diamond grind actually buys you, not just a floor that looks clean before we coat it.

A Denison Job, Start to Finish

Keeping a Denison Floor Looking New

One of the most common questions we get after a Denison install is how much upkeep the floor actually needs, and the honest answer is not much. For anything heavier, warm water, a mild soap, and a soft-bristle brush takes care of it, and the floor is fully safe to power wash once it's cured, so long as you keep the nozzle a reasonable distance back.

The one habit worth building is wiping up automotive fluids, fertilizer, and pool chemicals promptly rather than letting them sit for days. Our topcoat is chemical resistant, which means it won't discolor or break down on contact the way an untreated slab does, but resistant isn't the same as indestructible, and a puddle left for a week is asking more of the coating than it needs to. Outside of that, there's no waxing, no annual resealing, and no special products to keep on hand. A properly installed system is built to be lived on, not babied.

What We Use, and Why We Don't Cut Corners on Materials

We run Simiron base coats and Torginol flake almost exclusively, not because we're locked into a brand deal, but because we've tested cheaper alternatives over the years and watched them underperform on Grayson County concrete. Simiron's slow-cure formulas give us the working time to fully wet out a diamond-ground profile before the material starts to set, which matters more on a hot Denison afternoon than it does in a climate-controlled shop. Torginol flake holds its color and doesn't fade the way lower-grade vinyl chips can under years of direct Texas sun coming through a west-facing garage door.

The same philosophy carries through to the topcoat.
